Phase 1: The Discovery Portals (Mapping the Terrain)

The Big Picture

The Cutting Edge

  • Visit the NVIDIA Research Portal to see the future of AI, computer vision, and graphics before it hits the mainstream.

The Tech Stack

  • Explore NVIDIA Technologies to learn about architectures (e.g., Blackwell, Hopper) and industry‑specific breakthroughs.

Phase 2: Learning and Certification (Building the Foundation)

NVIDIA Learn

Deep Learning Institute (DLI)

  • The DLI offers self‑paced and instructor‑led courses, many of them free, with hands‑on access to fully configured GPU servers in the cloud.

Get Certified

  • NVIDIA Certifications are split into two logical paths:
    • Infrastructure Professional – focuses on hardware, networking (InfiniBand), and data‑center setup.
    • Developer – focuses on software, AI models, and programming (CUDA, Omniverse).

Phase 3: The Professional & Corporate Edge

NVIDIA Connect

  • Join the NVIDIA Connect Program (free) to receive technical guidance, preferred pricing, and faster time‑to‑market.

Corporate Partner Portal

  • Check if your company is already a partner at the Partner Portal. Registering can grant access to exclusive courses and certification discounts.

NVIDIA Academy

  • A resource for learning about DGX systems, networking (Cumulus Linux, RDMA), and data‑science tools.

Phase 4: The “Doer’s” Paradise (Hands‑On Development)

Documentation Hub

Developer Portal

  • Register for the NVIDIA Developer Program. Once registered you can:
    • Connect your GitLab account for seamless version control.
    • Join the Google Cloud & NVIDIA Community to leverage cloud‑based GPU power.

Phase 5: Build and Deploy (The AI Factory)

Why Use It?

  • Free Serverless APIs – Test state‑of‑the‑art models (e.g., Llama 3, Mistral, Nemotron) directly in your browser.
  • Validated Blueprints – Use pre‑built blueprints for “Agentic AI” or Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) applications.
  • NVIDIA Cloud Services – Register at build.nvidia.com to receive an ID on cloudaccounts.nvidia.com, linking you to NVIDIA’s cloud infrastructure.

Final Thoughts

The best time to start was yesterday. The second best time is now.

Learning in public is the best way to master a stack as complex as NVIDIA’s. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be tackling a series of DLI courses and sharing “Cheat Sheets” for those looking to follow in my footsteps.

I’m currently at a crossroads between two fascinating paths:

  • The World of Brains: Generative AI and Agentic AI (building autonomous, reasoning agents with NIMs).
  • The World of Bodies: Physical AI and Robotics (exploring Isaac Sim and the frontier of embodied AI).

If you are a developer, architect, or tech enthusiast, let’s exchange insights as we move from “learning” to “building.” Which part of the NVIDIA ecosystem are you most excited to explore? Let me know in the comments!
