Release Information
Yacht Club Games announced that Mina the Hollower will launch on May 29 for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game will be priced at $19.99 (approximately $20). This release falls within the spring window previously referenced by the developer.
Gameplay
Mina the Hollower is an action‑adventure title with an 8‑bit aesthetic reminiscent of Game Boy Color games. It features 60 fps combat and a world described as “full of mystery and horror,” drawing inspiration from classic The Legend of Zelda and Castlevania titles.
Players control Mina, a mouse who wields a whip and other weapons. Mina can burrow underground for short distances, allowing her to cross gaps and become temporarily invincible.
Development History
The game was originally slated for a Halloween release last year, but Yacht Club delayed it to apply final polish and balancing. Development has spanned six years, during which the studio downsized after exhausting much of its capital. Co‑founder and studio head Sean Velasco described Mina the Hollower as a “make‑or‑break” moment for Yacht Club, noting that selling 500,000 copies would be ideal, while 200,000 would still be “really, really great.”
