Microsoft is beginning to test its Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR) feature with the Xbox Ally X. Auto SR originally debuted on select Copilot Plus PCs almost two years ago, where it enhanced visual quality and frame rates in supported games.

Testing on Xbox Ally X

The new tests focus on docked play—connecting the 7‑inch handheld to a larger TV. In this mode, the Xbox Ally X can boost resolution and adjust graphical settings to better suit bigger screens, where drops in image quality are more noticeable or where some games struggle to maintain smooth FPS.
