Announcement

Apple is expected to announce its rumored low‑cost MacBook at the “Apple Experience” event on March 4, 2026 at 9:00 am ET. The event will be held for media in New York, London, and Shanghai.

Color Options

The invite graphic for the Apple Experience shows a 3D Apple logo composed of transparent discs in yellow, green, and blue, suggesting that the new entry‑level MacBook will be available in bold colors.

  • In June 2025, analyst Ming‑Chi Kuo reported that the affordable MacBook could come in silver, blue, pink, and yellow finishes, matching the entry‑level iPad.
  • Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman noted that Apple has tested a range of playful colors for the device, including light yellow, light green, blue, pink, classic silver, and dark gray. He added that not all of these shades are likely to ship.

If released, this color palette would make the budget MacBook the most colorful laptop Apple has offered since the iBook G3 era in the late‑1990s, which featured Tangerine, Blueberry, Indigo, Graphite, and Key Lime.

Expected Specifications

  • The low‑cost MacBook is expected to be powered by an iPhone‑class chip, likely the A18 Pro, rather than an M‑series processor.
  • Pricing is anticipated to be well below $1,000.
