Apple plans mass production of AI server chips in 2026

Apple is preparing to mass‑produce its own AI‑focused server chips in the second half of 2026 amid reliance on a short‑term partnership with Google to meet immediate AI expectations, according to analyst Ming‑Chi Kuo.

In a new post on X, Kuo said that Apple is facing mounting short‑term pressure to deliver AI capabilities and that the company’s current partnership with Google Cloud will help bridge the gap until Apple’s own hardware is ready for volume production.

Kuo added that the partnership is “temporary” and that Apple expects to have its own AI server silicon in mass production by the latter half of 2026, which will allow the tech giant to run its own large‑scale models in‑house.

He also noted that Apple’s AI roadmap includes a “new generation of AI chips” that will be integrated into its data‑center infrastructure, reducing reliance on external cloud providers.

The analyst warned that while Apple’s AI ambitions are high, the company must balance short‑term performance demands with the long‑term goal of building a self‑sufficient AI ecosystem.

No further details were provided about the specifications of the upcoming AI server chips or the exact terms of the Apple‑Google partnership.
