KitchenAid has released its first smart thermometer. The single‑probe model retails for $100, while the dual‑probe version costs $200. Although a maximum temperature isn’t listed, the company says the Smart Thermometer can be used for grilling, roasting, smoking, air frying, and stovetop cooking.
Design & Battery
- Waterproof and dishwasher‑safe probes.
- Battery life: up to 24 hours on a full charge.
- Quick‑charge: five minutes of charging adds an extra five hours of cooking time.
App & Connectivity
The thermometer pairs with KitchenAid’s app, which provides:
- A graph view to visualize temperature changes.
- Storage for up to 20 saved cooking profiles.
- Timers and alerts that notify you when to take specific steps based on temperature.
Probes connect via Bluetooth. The optional Range Extender Mode can extend the effective range to 285 feet when a second internet‑connected device is used.

KitchenAid’s smart thermometer joins other products such as:
- Meater – a grilling‑focused brand offering dual probes with Wi‑Fi connectivity.
- ThermoWorks – known for high‑accuracy wireless grilling tools.
- Whirlpool – which previously released the Yummly Smart Thermometer and owns the KitchenAid brand.
