Apple CEO Tim Cook and incoming CEO John Ternus reportedly shared remarks today at an all‑hands Apple meeting. Cook’s words were reported here, while Ternus’s comments are outlined below.

One day after Apple announced its CEO transition, the current and future CEOs reportedly held an all‑hands meeting with Apple employees about the coming change.

You can find Cook’s comments here, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Gurman also has details on what incoming CEO John Ternus said to Apple’s teams. According to his report:

In his own comments to employees, Ternus said that he’s “especially excited to be stepping into this role at this moment, because I am telling you we are about to change the world once again.”
He added that Apple has an “incredible road map ahead, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the most exciting time to be building products and services at Apple in my entire career.”
“AI is going to create almost unlimited potential,” he said. “We’re going to be able to keep unlocking possibilities that are going to create entirely new opportunities for our products and services, and I’m so excited about what that’s going to mean for our users.”

Regarding the last paragraph, Ternus has reportedly already started overhauling internal company operations with new AI systems.

Many of Ternus’s reported remarks are full of hyperbole, but that’s probably fitting for the next Apple CEO. Cook has also been known to make exuberant, borderline over‑the‑top remarks about Apple’s future pipeline and ambitions, so Ternus is simply following his predecessor in that regard.

Preserving team morale during a big transition is important, and Ternus is clearly trying to do that here.

When the new CEO gets to unveil Apple’s first new products under his leadership this fall, he’ll have the chance to start proving his words more than just hype.
