iPhone 18 Pro will feature an upgraded camera system
According to Yuryev’s tweet, both the camera plateau and the lenses will protrude further on the iPhone 18 Pro Max compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
- 17 Pro Max thickness from cameras: 12.92 mm
- 18 Pro Max thickness from cameras: 13.77 mm
- 17 Pro Max thickness from plateau: 11.23 mm
- 18 Pro Max thickness from plateau: 11.54 mm
Apple officially lists the body depth (without the camera system) as 8.75 mm for both the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone Air has the thinnest measurement at 5.64 mm.
The increased thickness is expected to be due to the upgraded camera system on the iPhone 18 Pro line this fall. While the change may be difficult to spot at a glance, the Pro line now has more room to trade sleekness for performance.
iPhone Ultra compared to iPad mini
Yuryev also compared a rumored iPhone Ultra (the name for Apple’s upcoming foldable‑display model) dummy unit to existing Apple products such as the iPad mini.
A hands‑on video with these dummy units from Max Tech is expected later today.
Apple’s first foldable iPhone is anticipated to support running two iPhone apps side‑by‑side. Although some rumors suggested a later launch than the iPhone 18 Pro, the latest reports indicate no significant delay.
