iOS 26.4 redesigns Wallpaper Gallery

Apple just released the first iOS 26.4 beta, and it includes a number of under‑the‑hood improvements. One notable change is an overhauled Wallpaper Gallery system.

Redesigned Wallpaper Gallery

With iOS 26.4, the Wallpaper Gallery has been redesigned and optimized for performance.

• Categories are displayed along the top.
• Photo sections for Featured, Photo Shuffle, and Spatial Scenes are available.
• Familiar categories can now be added or removed.

The new Gallery lists sections such as Weather, Astronomy, Emoji, and more, each with a description. To view examples within a collection, tap the Get button to add the options. After loading, you can browse the full collection or tap the check‑mark button to remove the collection from the gallery.

In addition to photo collections, the Gallery includes preloaded collections for iOS 26 and iPhone‑hardware‑specific wallpapers that cannot be disabled.

Beyond the visual changes, the system is more fluid and responsive, feeling at home with iOS 26.
