iOS 26.4 Adds Average Bedtime Metric and Restores Blood Oxygen to Health App Vitals Graph

In iOS 26.4, Apple introduced an Average Bedtime metric to the Sleep section of the Health app, giving users a clearer view of how their bedtime habits affect sleep quality.

Under a new Sleep Highlight, the app now lists the time you actually went to bed and the time you usually go to bed, based on averages over a two‑week period. This builds on the existing highlight from iOS 26.3, which displayed average sleep time over the past seven days, by adding a daily bedtime readout.
Blood Oxygen Returns to the Vitals Overview
Apple also refreshed the Vitals readout in the United States. The line‑graph overview now includes blood oxygen level alongside other daily metrics.

Previously, blood oxygen was shown as a separate metric in the Vitals section, but the graph itself did not plot the measurement. The limited support stemmed from Apple’s ongoing legal dispute with Masimo, which alleged patent infringement related to blood‑oxygen sensing and secured an import ban from the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Apple removed blood‑oxygen sensing from the Apple Watch in early 2024 to comply with the ban, but re‑added the feature in August 2025—available only on the iPhone. The Apple Watch still cannot measure blood oxygen and display the results directly on the wrist in the U.S.
iOS 26.4 is currently available to developers and public beta testers, with a full public release planned for spring.
