Introduction

ChatGPT Apps are still in BETA, but since yesterday every developer can submit their apps to the registry. I decided to try to fit a Game Boy inside ChatGPT to see if it worked… and it did!

How to play Game Boy inside ChatGPT

1. Activate developer mode in Settings → Apps → Advanced Settings.

2. Create a new app called GameBoy.

3. Paste the following URL as the MCP Server URL:

   https://gameboy.manifest.build/mcp

4. Upload your favorite ROM (you must own the original copy) to the chat.

5. Mention @GameBoy to launch the game.
