Review
After testing the updated PS‑LX3BT earlier this spring, I can confirm it’s one of the best record players for beginners. It sounds great, is super easy to set up, and its Bluetooth connectivity and fully automatic operation are very convenient. Coming from a manual turntable, I felt “spoiled” and was genuinely bummed to return it at the end of the testing period.
Features
- Bluetooth – stream vinyl to wireless speakers or headphones.
- Fully automatic – press the green “Start” button and the turntable does the rest.
- USB‑B port – rip vinyl tracks directly to a laptop for digitizing collections.
- USB‑B example – useful for digitizing exclusive B‑sides such as the new Charli XCX singles on vinyl.
- Tracking force – 3.5 g (heavier than the ideal 1–3 g range, which may increase record wear).

Pricing and Alternatives
- The PS‑LX3BT retails for $399.99, which is higher than many competing turntables. The current Amazon price of $348 is the best deal available.
- Other retailers such as Best Buy and Sony also list the turntable at a similar price with free shipping, but typically a dollar or two higher.
If the tracking force concerns you, consider Sony’s higher‑end PS‑LX5BT. It features a removable cartridge with a 2 g tracking force. The PS‑LX5BT is more expensive, but it is also on sale for $473 on Amazon (about $27 off), with comparable offers at Best Buy and Sony.
