Adjusting Privacy Settings
To protect your privacy while using your PS5, customize settings to control what information is visible to others, restrict who can communicate with you, and manage your account security. This includes limiting who can see your online status, gaming history, and profile information, as well as controlling access to your account and console.
- Open Settings → Users and Accounts → Privacy → View and Customize Your Privacy Settings.
- For each option (real name, profile picture, friends list, game activity and history, friend requests, online interactions), choose No One or Close Friends Only as appropriate. This reduces unwanted friend requests and spam.

Controlling Data Collection
Under Privacy, scroll down to Control how your data is collected and used. You’ll find three sections:
Data You Provide
- Set the option to Limited.
Personalization
- Turn off all four sub‑options, including Standard Personalization.
Voice Data Collection
- Select Don’t Allow.
These changes limit the amount of personal information Sony collects, such as voice data from the DualSense controller’s microphone.
