Overview

Chess Warmup is a free, ad‑free web app that requires no sign‑up. It helps you:

  • Instantly recognize the colour of any square (e.g., “e4” is white).
  • Locate board coordinates faster.

The app also tracks your statistics and shows a heatmap of your weak squares after each session.

Modes

The current version includes four training modes:

  1. Square Colour Identification – Guess whether a given coordinate is a light or dark square.
  2. Coordinate Recall – Identify the algebraic notation of a highlighted square.
  3. Random Square Drill – Quickly name the colour and coordinate of random squares.
  4. Mixed Challenge – A combination of the above tasks with increasing difficulty.

Stats & Heatmap

After each session you can view:

  • Total attempts, correct answers, and accuracy.
  • A heatmap visualizing the squares where you make the most mistakes, helping you focus your practice.
