How to download Android 17 Beta 1 on your Pixel right now

Google has long allowed Pixel owners to install Android beta software on their devices, giving early access to upcoming Android versions.
Now Google has announced the first Android 17 beta (details). This release brings performance improvements, VVC codec support on compatible devices, and better handling of various screen sizes and postures.
How to download Android 17 beta 1 if you’re already in the Android 16 beta program
If your Pixel is enrolled in the Android 16 beta, the update is delivered over‑the‑air:
- Open Settings.
- Tap System.
- Select Software updates → System update.
- Tap Check for updates.
You should see a prompt confirming the availability of Android 17 beta 1. Follow the on‑screen instructions to download and install it.
How to download Android 17 beta 1 if you’re not yet in the beta program

Enroll your Pixel in the Android beta program:
- Visit google.com/android/beta in a web browser.
- Locate Your eligible devices and tap Opt in next to your Pixel.
- Agree to the terms and tap Confirm and enroll, then OK.
