Robot Phone Details
Honor first teased its “Robot phone” with a movable camera arm earlier this year. Ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the Chinese company provided more details about the device, including how the robot can respond to different situations without commands. Honor plans to launch the phone in the second half of 2026.
The robot also has a “personality” and can respond with “head shakes” or nods, and it can even dance to the beat of music. Users can interact with the assistant on the phone through text and voice. In a demo video, a person asked for apparel suggestions, and the robot nodded or shook its head to indicate its recommendation.
Camera Capabilities
- 200‑megapixel camera mounted on a three‑axis gimbal with stabilization technology.
- The camera can smoothly rotate to capture fluid videos and photos.
- Super Steady mode for video capture.
- Spinshot feature enables cinematic shots by rotating the robot camera 90° or 180°.

The robotic camera also supports more fluid video calls with AI‑powered object tracking, akin to an enhanced version of Apple’s Center Stage.
Hardware and Design
Honor developed its own micro‑motor to control the robotic camera’s movements and incorporated techniques from foldable phones to make the camera sturdy while fitting a four‑degree‑of‑freedom gimbal into the phone’s body. The robotic arm uses the same material as the Honor Magic V6’s hinge, offering a tensile strength of 2,800 MPa.
