Project Aura
Google’s first pair of Android XR glasses, codenamed Project Aura, are slated for launch this year. The design mirrors Meta’s Ray‑Ban smart glasses, featuring chunky black plastic frames. This marks Google’s second foray into smart glasses after the original Google Glass failed to gain traction over a decade ago.
Gucci Collaboration
According to Reuters, Gucci’s parent company Kering is partnering with Google to create a stylish AI‑enabled smart‑glasses line. The Gucci‑branded glasses are planned for release in 2027, aiming to combine fashion with Google’s XR technology.
Other Partnerships
Last year, Google announced additional smart‑glasses collaborations with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, expanding its ecosystem of wearable XR devices.
