Overview
Google announced a new AI‑driven Daily Brief at Google I/O. The opt‑in service is available now for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the United States. It pulls information from multiple sources—email, calendar, and other data—to create a concise summary of the day, aiming to be more useful than a simple to‑do list.
Features
- Top‑of‑mind section – Highlights what Google’s Gemini AI deems most urgent for you.
- Calendar summary – Provides a quick view of upcoming events and appointments.
- FYI section – Offers additional context or information that may be relevant.
The Daily Brief builds on a previous Google Labs feature called CC, which still has a waitlist. An example shown by Google Labs and Gemini VP Josh Woodward demonstrated a “Coordinate your high‑stakes Sunday morning” scenario, illustrating how the brief can incorporate travel plans and other personal details.
“Daily Brief gives you a seamless, intuitive entry point into the world of AI agents,” Woodward wrote in a blog post.
Pricing
- AI Plus – $8 per month
- AI Pro – $20 per month
- AI Ultra – $100–$200 per month
Whether these subscription tiers will attract average users remains to be seen, but the Daily Brief offers a concrete example of how AI agents can simplify a busy person’s day.
