Android Update – Snapseed 4.0

In June 2025 Google released a major Snapseed update after a long dormancy. After confirming earlier this year that iOS exclusivity would end, Snapseed 4.0 is now rolling out to Android.

  • The Play Store listing now shows version 4.0.
  • Both Android and iOS receive an updated interface; iOS was on version 3.0 until now.

New Home Screen

  • A grid‑style homepage displays photos you’ve edited.
  • Tap Add Photo at the bottom to open the system file picker.
  • The Snapseed Camera is accessed via a floating action button (FAB) on the home screen.

Editor Layout

  • Bottom tabs: Looks, Tools, Export.
  • The middle Tools tab is grouped into Refine, Fix, Style, and All.
  • Adjust values by dragging left/right; swipe up/down for additional options.
  • Top‑right corner toggles dark/light themes and shows a histogram.

Snapseed Camera

  • Skeuomorphic viewfinder with a Pro mode (ISO, shutter speed, focus).
  • Real‑time “film emulation” styles:
