Announcement

Google CEO Sundar Pichai opened the Google Cloud Next conference on Wednesday with a video announcing one of the company’s biggest new products: the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The platform is designed for building and managing AI agents at scale and serves as Google’s answer to Amazon’s Bedrock AgentCore and Microsoft Foundry.

Target Audiences

  • IT and technical teams – The Agent Platform is geared toward these groups, providing tools for creating, deploying, and managing agents that can handle technical tasks such as coding, trigger‑based processes, and file manipulation without switching apps.
  • Business users – Google directs business users to the Gemini Enterprise app, introduced in the fall. This app lets non‑technical users work with agents built by IT or create their own for tasks like scheduling meetings, automating repetitive workflows, and editing documents.

Underlying Models

The platform leverages a mix of Google‑owned and third‑party models:

  • Gemini LLM (Google’s own large language model)
  • Nano Banana 2 (image generator)
  • Anthropic’s Claude family, including Claude Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku, as well as the newly released Opus 4.7.

These models cover a range of capabilities from high‑performance reasoning to lower‑cost inference, giving enterprises flexibility in choosing the right balance of power and cost.
