Google is adding a new tool to Search that should allow users to save a little bit of cash on their upcoming summer vacations.

Starting today, Google users can now track prices for individual hotels, similar to the company’s flight price tracking system that’s been in place for a while. The company has been building up to this functionality; last year it launched the ability to track hotel pricing via a city‑wide aggregate. Now, if there’s a specific place you’re looking to stay at—whether for the experience or for reward points—you can receive email alerts for that specific location whenever the price shifts during your planned dates.

How to enable hotel price tracking

Desktop:

  1. Go to Google’s hotel searching site.
  2. Filter for a listing by date and location.
  3. In either the Overview or Prices tab, scroll past the full list of options until you find the toggle labeled “Track this hotel.”
  4. Turn the toggle on to start receiving price‑change alerts via email.

The feature is live for signed‑in English and Spanish users. A separate “Track all hotels” option remains at the top of the results sidebar.

Mobile:

  1. Open the Google Hotels search on your device.
  2. After selecting dates and a location, go to the Prices tab.
  3. Locate the “Track this hotel” toggle underneath the reservation options and enable it.

Other summer‑travel tools

Google is also promoting additional ways to plan summer holidays, including:

  • Building itineraries in Search’s AI Mode.
  • Using Ask Maps to find suggested stops on your travel route.
  • Tracking flight details via Live Updates in Wallet – see the flight tracking feature.
