TL;DR

  • Google is preparing to roll out Rambler in Gboard.
  • The latest Gboard beta adds a toggle for the voice‑to‑text feature.
  • Google is also preparing to remove Pixel Studio from its virtual keyboard.

Rambler Overview

During Google I/O 2026, Google announced a new Gboard feature called Rambler.
Rambler improves voice‑to‑text by understanding context and filtering out filler words (e.g., “like”, “um”). It can also detect repetitions or self‑corrections, keeping only the relevant parts of a spoken message. The feature does not have a firm release date yet, but Google expects it to arrive this summer.

New Toggle in Gboard Beta

In the latest beta version (17.5.6.917159154‑beta‑arm64‑v8a) of Gboard, a new toggle appears in Voice typing settings. The toggle is not enabled by default; once activated, it lets users turn Rambler on or off at will.

Pixel Studio Sunsetting

Earlier this year, Google announced it would sunset Pixel Studio, the AI sticker‑creation tool, and redirect users to Nano Banana in Gemini. An investigation of the latest Gboard beta revealed a code reference indicating that the custom sticker creation tab has been removed, preparing for Pixel Studio’s eventual removal. This change has not yet been rolled out to all users.

Caution

⚠️ An APK teardown can predict future features based on work‑in‑progress code, but there is no guarantee that these predicted features will reach a public release.
