Gemini’s most powerful new ability looks like it’s getting ready for Gemini Live
Source: Android Authority

TL;DR
- Google introduced Personal Intelligence for Gemini last month.
- Initially available for paid users in the Gemini app, Google plans to expand Personal Intelligence’s reach, including to AI Mode Search.
- New evidence suggests Personal Intelligence may soon be coming to Gemini Live.
Google has been continuously tweaking Gemini since its launch—updating models, adding support for new media types, and more. One of the most impactful upgrades is the recently announced Personal Intelligence for Gemini. There’s already speculation about expanding Personal Intelligence into tools like NotebookLM, and now we have another possible direction.
What is Personal Intelligence?
Personal Intelligence lets Gemini build a growing knowledge base about you—your preferences, the way you use Gemini, and (optionally) data from your emails, photos, and search history. Participation is optional; you can opt out entirely if you have privacy concerns.
Currently, access is limited to paid AI Pro or Ultra tier accounts, but Google has indicated plans to eventually make it available to free users as well. The company has also hinted at extending Personal Intelligence into AI Mode in Search.
A Clue in the Latest Android App Update
In the 17.5.41.sa.arm64 beta update of the Android app, a new Gemini setting appears with a placeholder label: GL Intelligence.

The label suggests a possible Gemini Live Intelligence feature, akin to Personal Intelligence in other contexts.
A related string found in the update’s resources reinforces this idea:
Live NG
The “next gen” wording, rather than explicit “Intelligence,” hints that Google is preparing a significant upgrade for Gemini Live.
How Likely Is This to Arrive Soon?
The findings suggest Google is still in early development stages for this feature, so it may not be ready for immediate release. Given the momentum behind Personal Intelligence, the question is likely when it will debut rather than if it will.
We’ll continue monitoring future updates for additional signs of progress.
⚠️ An APK teardown can predict upcoming features based on work‑in‑progress code, but predicted features may not always make it to a public release.
