First Look at the Galaxy Z Flip 8 Renders
Leaks are already surfacing as the Galaxy Z Flip 8 appears for the first time in official‑looking renders. Samsung doesn’t seem to be making major changes—just shaving off a hair here and there. Courtesy of OnLeaks and MyMobiles, the device gets its own CAD render that looks almost identical to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, including the outer display layout and hinge profile.
Don’t worry, your eyes aren’t deceiving you.
Dimensions and Form Factor
- Unfolded size: 166.8 × 75.4 × 6.6 mm
- Folded thickness: Only 0.5 mm thinner than the Z Flip 7.
In every other aspect, the Z Flip 8 appears to be essentially the same phone as its predecessor if this leak holds true. The displays are almost identical, the camera layout is similar, and the thickness difference is negligible.
Design Refinements
- The changes are mostly incremental—minor reductions in thickness and a slightly refined hinge.
- No visible increase in overall thickness, unlike the trend seen with Motorola’s upcoming Razr, which is reported to be 0.6 mm thicker.
Potential Internal Upgrades
The leak does not cover internal improvements such as:
- A better hinge mechanism or less visible crease.
- Upgraded memory or processor configurations.
Recent RAM cost increases may temper expectations for high‑performance pairings in the near future. Earlier leaks suggested Samsung might retain the same battery layout (source).
Samsung’s Broader Focus
Samsung appears to be dividing its attention across multiple form factors:
Outlook
Even with the modest changes, it’s a positive sign that Samsung didn’t make the Galaxy Z Flip 8 thicker than its predecessor. Whether the company can introduce meaningful upgrades remains to be seen. The renders provide a glimpse of what the phone may become—hopefully with some real improvements under the surface.
