Introduction

First post here! I was having issues over at https://thatorjohn.hashnode.dev, so it’s time for a change.

Problem

You know what you can’t easily find in Austin? Legit po‑boy bread.
I drove between Austin and the Mississippi Gulf Coast multiple times last year. It would have been a travesty not to capitalize on the MS‑to‑TX drive and haul back foods like:

  • Leidenheimer bread
  • Country Pleasin’ sausage
  • Kartchner’s Specialty Meats

Solution

What if you could scale that food haul up to earn some cash? I started experimenting and soon built out (mostly with Claude Code and Codex) 95 % of a multi‑tenant preorder platform where runners can post a run and buyers can select items from an inventory to be picked up at a designated location (think Hotplate meets DoorDash).

Platform Details

  • The platform is live at https://www.foodieandbandit.com.
  • Runners can choose run visibility: public, unlisted, or approved followers only.
  • Payments are processed through Stripe Connect.

Runner’s View

Below is a preview of the runner’s inventory view updating live during a purchase window. (image or screenshot placeholder)

PostHog Integration

I wanted to try something new, so I let PostHog’s wizard install itself. The wizard integrated smoothly into my Next.js app. Although I lost the specifics of a flagged post on my previous blogging platform, PostHog AI made it easy to jump‑start dashboards.
