Facebook accounts unavailable in worldwide outage

Social media giant Facebook is currently experiencing a massive worldwide outage, preventing users from accessing their accounts.

When visiting the site, users are greeted with a message stating their account is temporarily unavailable:

“Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes.”

According to DownDetector, the outage began around 4:15 PM ET and is impacting accounts worldwide.

The Meta status page currently reports “High Disruptions” to the Facebook ad manager, Instagram Boost, and the WhatsApp Business API.

BleepingComputer contacted Facebook with questions about the outage and will update the story if we hear back.
