- Establish clear rules about sensitive data and privacy.
Why it matters – Low‑cost, low‑risk, and immediately beneficial. A company that refuses even this is effectively limiting its workforce’s productivity.
When Businesses Jump Too Far, Too Fast
Some companies rush head‑first into AI. They:
- Commission ambitious AI projects.
- Integrate large models into core workflows.
- Expect automation to replace significant portions of human work.
What usually happens
- Budgets explode due to underestimated infrastructure, inference, retraining, and monitoring costs.
- Performance falls short; models that shine in demos struggle in production.

At this level AI supports existing processes rather than replacing them.

Benefits
- Faster, more consistent output.
- Reduced cognitive load for employees.

For many organizations, Level 2 alone delivers tangible ROI without the risks of over‑engineering.
Level 3 – AI‑Driven Systems (Powerful, but Selective)
Some businesses naturally progress further. Here AI becomes:
- Part of the product itself.
- Embedded in decision‑making loops.
- Directly tied to revenue or operational risk.
Examples

- Agent‑driven workflows.
- Forecasting, personalization, or detection systems.
Prerequisites
- Clean, reliable data.

- Rigorous evaluation and regression testing.

Invest in people first, and the tools will follow.
