Enterprise-defined custom organization roles
Managing role‑based access standards across many organizations can be challenging, whether administration is centralized or decentralized in your enterprise. Enterprise administrators can now create a set of custom organization roles that are available across all organizations in the enterprise. The core set of roles you use in your day‑to‑day work can be standardized, supporting compliance requirements and making movement across organizations more consistent. Up to 20 of these enterprise‑defined organization custom roles can be made available at once.
Role creation and management
- Roles can be edited only by an authorized enterprise administrator.
- Enterprise and organization owners use the same set of organization and repository permissions to create a role.
- There are no functional differences between roles created at the enterprise level versus the organization level.
Assigning roles
Roles can be assigned by an organization administrator in the organization settings or through the organization role assignment API.
