Elon Musks X begins rolling out new History feature
Source: Mashable Tech
On Elon Musk’s X, Bookmarks have been a popular way for users to keep track of posts they want to refer back to later. Previously, users had to actively select posts to bookmark, which were then saved to the Bookmarks tab.
New History feature
X is renaming the Bookmarks tab to History in a rollout that is currently in progress. With this change, the tab will not only display bookmarked posts but also an archive of articles and videos that users have read and watched on the platform.
“We’re rolling out a new History tab on iOS to help you keep track of all your favorite content on X,” said X head of product Nikita Bier. “Bookmarks, Long Videos, Articles and Likes will live here — so you can always come back and continue watching or reading. The Timeline moves fast, so we hope this creates a better place for catching up on long‑form content.”

Availability
- The History feature is currently available only on X for iOS.
- It functions similarly to a web browser’s history, showing bookmarks, likes, and a record of articles and videos viewed within the app.
Context
The move comes as read‑later services such as Pocket have been discontinued (Mashable article). Other platforms, like Facebook, already let users view their activity—including watched videos and clicked links—within the mobile app.
User reports
- Some X users have already seen their Bookmarks tab updated to History.
- Others are still waiting for the update to roll out to their accounts.
