Dyson just launched its first-ever portable fan for $99

Dyson announced its first portable handheld fan, the HushJet Mini Cool, which is now available for purchase at $99 on Dyson.com.
The HushJet Mini Cool weighs just 7.5 oz (under half a pound) and measures 38 mm (1.5 in) in diameter—about the same size as Dyson’s slim Supersonic hair dryer and PencilVac stick vacuum. It offers five airflow speeds plus a “Boost” mode, runs up to six hours on the lowest setting, and fully charges in roughly three hours.

Noise Levels
Dyson states the fan runs at 52 dBA on the first speed (about the hum of a refrigerator) and peaks at 72.5 dBA in Boost mode, slightly quieter than the 77 dBA Supersonic hair dryer.
Comparison with Competitors
- Shark ChillPill (released earlier this spring) costs $149.99, is 64 % heavier, and moves air at up to 25 ft s⁻¹. It offers a longer battery life, 10 speed settings, and interchangeable misting/cooling heads.
- The HushJet Mini Cool is priced lower at $99 and delivers significantly higher airflow speed, though with a shorter battery life.
