Dyson announces the PencilWash wet floor cleaner

Overview

Last year Dyson introduced the PencilVac, which it immediately declared the “world’s slimmest vacuum cleaner.” The newly unveiled PencilWash now claims the title of the world’s slimmest wet‑floor cleaner.

Design

• Dimensions: The handle measures just 1.5 inches (≈3.8 cm) in diameter, and the entire unit weighs a little over 2 kg.
• Form factor: Its ultra‑thin design lets the cleaner lie almost completely flat, making it easy to reach tight corners or get under low furniture.
• Storage: The slender profile is ideal for small homes or tight storage spaces.

Features

• Cleaning method: Applies only fresh water to floors; spills and stains are removed quickly and the surface dries fast.
• Roller: High‑density microfiber roller tackles both wet and dry debris in a single pass.
• Filter‑free: No traditional filter, so there’s no concern about trapped dirt or lingering odors.
• Battery & charging: A screen above the power buttons shows remaining battery level. The handle slots into a charging dock when not in use.

Pricing & Availability

• The Dyson PencilVac is priced at $349; a release date has not yet been announced.
