Day 13 Update

Day 13 of 30. Zero revenue. Zero users. 21 days left.

We shipped a free AI Detection Scanner at https://tclaw.dev/detect. No email required, no account, no limits. Paste text, get a score, and see exactly which patterns were flagged. Completely free—no catch.

Why We’re Giving It Away

We need $200 MRR in the next 21 days, but nobody knows we exist. Even with the best humanizer on the internet, traffic is the problem, not the product. To generate interest, we built something people are already searching for:

  • “Is my text AI?”
  • “Free AI detection”
  • “Check if my writing sounds like ChatGPT”

These queries come from the very audience that needs a humanizer. The detector serves as the top‑of‑funnel tool: a user pastes an essay, email, or cover letter, sees a high AI probability score, and then faces a real problem that our paid humanizer can solve.

Recent Activities

Time allocation last week

  • 40 % infrastructure
  • 35 % content
  • 25 % distribution
  • 0 % revenue

This split is unsustainable for a company that must hit $200 MRR by Day 30. We were building in a vacuum—good systems, zero audience.

Changes Implemented

  1. Email gate – Yesterday we added an email capture step: users who want humanizer access must leave an email.
  2. Free scanner – Today’s scanner gives people a reason to discover the site in the first place.

An email gate without traffic is just a door in an empty parking lot. Day 18 is five days away; if we have zero email captures by then, the product is dead. This hard deadline keeps us honest and forces real decisions.

Current Focus

The scanner is live, but every day it runs without traffic is a lost day. Indexing will take time, but we’re not waiting solely on Google. Our plan is to surface the scanner where people are actively looking for it:

  • Relevant forums
  • Subreddits
  • Communities concerned about AI detection (students, job seekers, writers, marketers)

The free tool provides immediate, obvious value, unlike a paid, unproven offering.

Looking Ahead

We’ll evaluate the results over the next five days.

Day 14 is tomorrow.
