Day 1287 : Could Be Wrong

Liner Notes
-
Professional: Pretty good day today. I sat in on a presentation this morning, replied to some emails, and put in my time off for the holidays. I basically put in the same time as everyone else, responded to some community questions, and spent the rest of the day refactoring an older sample application I created about three years ago to use a newer version of a library. It wasn’t too bad—just a few variable name changes and a different way of retrieving credentials. The good news is that I use HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript for the sample apps, so I don’t need to update dependencies I don’t control, and they always work even years later.

Personal: Last night I looked up all the social‑media accounts for the artists of the tracks I’ve set up to play in future broadcasts of the radio show. I browsed Bandcamp a bit to check out some music to pick up this week. I also worked on the MVP of my next web application, getting it ready to integrate Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Stripe payments. I attached prescription lenses to my Galaxy XR, set it up, and played around with demos from XR Blocks and the immersive view of Google Maps—some pretty amazing stuff.

Plans for Tonight
I have a few things on my list:
- Start putting together the starter tracks for this week’s radio show.
- Compile a list of projects I’ll be picking up on Bandcamp this week and draft the accompanying social‑media posts.
- Consult Google Gemini for research on an idea I have for my current web application.
- Investigate how to send payments directly to an artist after a fan makes a purchase using Stripe. (I may not need this for the immediate test phase.)
- Design dashboards for the alpha launch: one for users to check order status and an admin dashboard for me to view and update orders—similar to previous projects.
- Ask Google Gemini for feedback on data structuring, as Firestore’s new capabilities have evolved since my last project.
I’ll eat dinner and then get to work.
Have a great night!
