Release Details
The super adorable, incredibly cozy city‑building game Town to City will leave early access and launch on Steam in its full voxelated glory on May 26. It entered Steam Early Access in September 2025 and has amassed nearly 4,000 reviews, 98 % of which are positive. The full launch brings a slew of updates, including:
- New map: Rocemarée
- Tourist route ability
- Fresh buildings, quests, jobs, and props
Gameplay
Town to City is a meditative, low‑risk city builder set in a 19th‑century Mediterranean landscape. Players can:
- Customize terrain without a grid, carving streets and placing buildings freely.
- Unlock houses, businesses, social hubs, animals, jobs, crops, and architectural pieces gradually.
- Enjoy a forgiving campaign with no fail state and optional challenges that unlock additional features and larger city sizes.
- Manage a secondary farming village, explore research trees, and dive into rich town‑management mechanics.
- Use Sandbox mode for unrestricted creative building.
The game’s detail level is remarkable: you can place flowers, bushes, light fixtures, and tiny potted plants on building facades, all of which automatically adapt their shape to look functional and cute. Seasonal decorations—like pumpkins, jack‑o‑lanterns, cherry blossoms, and Halloween décor—add extra charm.
Development & Future Plans
Indie studio Galaxy Grove has been updating Town to City throughout early access, consistently hitting roadmap milestones. Recent major additions include a terraforming feature, animals, and various seasonal goodies.
Publisher Kwalee and Galaxy Grove plan to add controller support in the latter half of 2026. A second team at Galaxy Grove is also working on a voxel‑art rail tycoon titled Steam to Electric.
