Overview

Chamberlain is expanding its closed smart home ecosystem with a new lock that doubles as a 2K HDR video doorbell. Announced at CES 2026, the myQ Secure View 3‑in‑1 Smart Lock costs $279.99 and uses face detection to automatically lock or unlock your door depending on who’s approaching. For this to work, the lock must be paired with a myQ Home Bridge and a myQ app‑enabled Wi‑Fi router, which together create a private, encrypted network that keeps video streams and facial data on‑device.

The device features:

  • 2K HDR video doorbell with a 160° field of view and night‑vision capabilities.
  • Integrated smart lock that supports key‑card, PIN, and biometric (face) authentication.
  • myQ Secure View app for real‑time notifications, remote lock/unlock, and activity logs.
  • End‑to‑end encryption for all video and biometric data, stored locally on the lock’s SSD.

How It Works

  1. Face Detection – The lock’s AI processor scans faces as someone approaches. Recognized household members trigger an automatic unlock; unknown faces keep the door locked and send an alert.
  2. Secure Pairing – The myQ Home Bridge creates a dedicated VLAN that isolates the lock from other network traffic, preventing external access.
  3. Remote Access – Users can view live video and control the lock via the myQ app, which requires two‑factor authentication for added security.

Privacy & Security

  • All facial recognition data is processed on‑device; no images are uploaded to the cloud unless the user opts into the optional “cloud backup” feature.
  • The lock’s firmware is signed and receives OTA updates through the myQ Home Bridge, ensuring the latest security patches.
  • A physical “privacy button” on the lock disables the camera and microphone for a set period, giving users control over when they are being recorded.

Availability

The myQ Secure View 3‑in‑1 Smart Lock will ship in Q2 2026 and be available through Chamberlain’s official website and select retail partners. Early adopters can pre‑order now, with a bundled discount if they also purchase the myQ Home Bridge.
