Google Home chief Anish Kattukaran announced several updates to the smart‑home platform that address a long list of annoyances and idiosyncrasies. Among them is a noteworthy new addition: Live Search for your cameras.

Live Search for Cameras

How it works

Gemini can now analyze what it sees in your live camera feeds, not just what has already happened. You can ask questions such as, “Hey Google, is there a car in the driveway?” and receive a real‑time answer based on the current view.

Pricing

Live Search is available with a subscription to the Advanced plan of Google Home Premium, priced at $20 / month or $200 / year.

Other Updates to Google Home

  • Gemini for Home is now powered by updated models, improving overall performance and responsiveness.
  • Additional fixes and enhancements address various long‑standing quirks across the platform.
