Google I/O 2026 Countdown

Overview

Google’s biggest show of the year always starts with a countdown. For I/O 2026, you can be part of it thanks to vibe coding — a creative challenge that lets you showcase a large number (1‑10, or all of them) in a project.

How to Participate

  1. Use the Gemini app’s Canvas feature or AI Studio to create a project that features a large number in the middle.
  2. Your creation can be anything you imagine: a game, fluid simulation, playable synthesizer, etc.—as long as a big number is prominently displayed.
  3. When you’re finished, generate a share link and submit it via the Code the Countdown form by May 6.
  4. Include one of your social handles in the form so Google can credit you.
  5. Tune into the I/O 2026 livestream at 9:55 AM PDT on May 19 to see if your work is featured.
