Apple TV has been [on a hot streak](https://9to5mac.com/2026/02/20/apple-tvs-new-movie-is-a-hit-and-just-the-start-of-a-big-year-ahead/) with new movies, and the streamer keeps strengthening its future lineup too. Here are three new movies that, per reporting today, are now part of Apple’s upcoming film plans.

  • Director: Edward Berger (Conclave)
  • Lead Actor: Austin Butler as Lance Armstrong
  • Production: Apple Original Films (won a competitive contest for the untitled project)

Synopsis

The film blends the high‑octane feel of F1: The Movie with the gritty storytelling of Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull and The Wolf of Wall Street. It will chronicle Armstrong’s rise, his triumphs, and the controversies that defined his career.

Rights & Involvement

  • This will be the first film made with Armstrong’s explicit approval of his life rights.
  • Producer Stuber and Armstrong negotiated extensively; Armstrong agreed only after being assured that the story would be told in full.

Butler’s Recent Work

Austin Butler previously starred in Apple TV+’s WWII drama Masters of the Air, which is available for streaming on the platform.

Holiday Film: “Foster the Snowman”

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Hikari

Apple seems eager to make a new holiday‑themed film each year. Last season we got The Family Plan 2, and Spirited (starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell) quickly became a personal favorite.

The New Project

Apple TV has secured Hikari to direct its next holiday offering, Foster the Snowman. Hikari’s most recent work is the acclaimed Rental Family for Searchlight.

  • Story by: Jono Matt & Peter Huyck (The Studio)
  • Concept: A high‑concept Christmas tale that blends the charm of Paddington, the humor of Elf, and the heart of It’s a Wonderful Life.

“A childless couple takes an accelerated journey through every parenting milestone when they’re forced to adopt an adorable snowman, whose whole magical life will play out in just 72 hours.” — Deadline

Apple secured the rights to the concept last year; with Hikari now attached, Foster the Snowman is officially moving toward production.

#3: “Once and Again” – a new romance novel from bestselling author Rebecca Serle

Apple has also reported won the rights to Once and Again, the forthcoming romance novel from bestselling author Rebecca Serle.

Serle’s previous hits include In Five Years, One Italian Summer, and The Dinner List.

Plot (via Deadline)

Billed as The Time Traveler’s Wife meets The Lakehouse, the story follows Lauren Novak, a Malibu native who left the beach behind for a picture‑perfect marriage and life in Los Angeles. When her relationship begins to crack and her husband takes a summer job in New York, Lauren returns to the coastal town that shaped her. There she must contend not only with her parents and grandmother, but also with the family’s most closely guarded secret: the women of the Novak family were born with a gift—each can, just once, turn back time.

The book releases in hardcover on Tuesday, March 10. You can pre‑order it here.
