Verification Requirements
Starting today, Apple will require customers in the United States, Canada, and Chile to verify their status as a student or educator to receive educational discounts. Apple is adopting the UNiDAYS verification system that it uses in other countries, with a new process to accommodate homeschool families.
Students and educators in these three countries can verify their academic status through the UNiDAYS app or website by providing:
- An email address from an educational institution, or
- A student or staff photo ID, or
- Another valid educational document.
Homeschool families can also be verified by UNiDAYS. Verification requires:
- An identity document (e.g., driver’s license or passport), and
- A homeschool document such as a Letter of Intent or Letter of Acknowledgement.
Most customers are verified instantly; when manual review is needed, UNiDAYS provides a decision within 24 hours.
Note: Some users have reported issues with the verification process.
Apple Watch Added to the Education Store
Apple is adding the following wearables to its Education Store:
- Apple Watch Series 11
- Apple Watch SE
- Apple Watch Ultra 3
Students and teachers are now eligible for up to a 10 % discount on these devices, as well as on other Apple products available through the Education Store.

Apple’s Education Store discounts are available to:
- Employees of K–12 institutions
- Faculty and staff of higher‑education institutions
- Students attending or accepted to higher‑education institutions
- Parents purchasing on behalf of children attending or accepted to a higher‑education institution
Once verified through UNiDAYS, eligible customers in the U.S., Canada, and Chile can purchase the Apple Watch and other Apple devices at discounted educational prices. The store also offers special pricing on Macs, iPads, the Studio Display, and accessories such as the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
