Apple has asked Google to look into “setting up servers” for a new version of Siri that’s powered by Google’s Gemini models and meets Apple’s privacy requirements, according to The Information. Apple announced in January that Gemini AI models would help power the upgraded Siri it delayed last year, but the report suggests Apple may rely even more on Google to accelerate its AI efforts.

The original partnership announcement stated that “the next generation of Apple Foundation Models will be based on Google’s Gemini models and cloud technology,” and that the models would “help power future Apple Intelligence features.”
