Apple Introduces App Store Monthly Subscriptions With 12-Month Commitment
Source: MacRumors
Apple today announced the launch of a new subscription option for the App Store that lets developers offer monthly subscriptions with a 12‑month commitment. This option provides the discounted pricing typically associated with an annual subscription while allowing payments to be spread out monthly, making them more affordable.

The new payment model lets subscribers cancel at any time, but the subscription will not renew after the agreed‑to payments have been completed, ensuring the 12‑month commitment is fulfilled.
Apple says the feature adds transparency by showing users the number of payments they have made and the number remaining toward their annual commitment. Apple will also send email and optional push notifications before renewals.
Developers can start creating these subscription types in App Store Connect and test them in Xcode immediately. They will become available to users on iOS 26.4 and equivalent versions on other platforms next month, alongside the launch of iOS 26.5 and related updates.
Note: The United States and Singapore are excluded from these subscriptions for now, with no announced timeline for rollout in those markets.
