Apple Announces U.S. Production of the Mac mini
Apple has announced that it plans to start manufacturing one of its Mac computers, the Mac mini, in the United States beginning this year.
Announcement Details
Sabih Khan, Apple’s chief operating officer, shared the development in a video interview with The Wall Street Journal.
“We’re very excited to tell you that later this year we will be beginning Mac mini manufacturing right here in this space,” Khan told the Journal during a tour of a Foxconn facility in Houston, Texas.
When asked how many Mac mini computers Apple makes per year, Khan answered that Apple makes “thousands every week.”
“Over time, we want to scale Mac mini here to serve our customers in this area,” Khan said about global manufacturing of the desktop computer.

Current Manufacturing Landscape
