On Tuesday, Anthropic unveiled its new enterprise agents program — its most aggressive push yet to integrate agentic AI into everyday workplaces. The announcement was detailed in an official briefing and on the company blog (Anthropic blog post).

“2025 was meant to be the year agents transformed the enterprise, but the hype turned out to be mostly premature,” said Kate Jensen, Anthropic’s head of Americas. “It wasn’t a failure of effort. It was a failure of approach.”

“We believe that the future of work means everybody having their own custom agent.”
— Matt Piccolella, Anthropic product officer (TechCrunch)

Announcement Overview

The new system aims to finally deliver on the promise of agentic AI for businesses. By leveraging the existing Claude Cowork platform and the plugin system announced in the research preview on January 30 (TechCrunch article), Anthropic is focusing on making these tools easier to deploy within a corporate environment. Key capabilities include:

  • Private software marketplaces for internal distribution
  • Controlled data flows to protect sensitive information
  • Customized plugins that can be tailored by IT administrators

Program Details

Under the enterprise agents program, companies can deploy pre‑built agents to handle common tasks such as financial research and engineering specifications. The offering is positioned as a major growth opportunity for Anthropic’s enterprise client base and a competitive threat to existing SaaS solutions that perform similar functions.

“Admins want to be able to have really, really, really tailored workflows and skills for their specific organization,” said Matt Piccolella. “And this allows the admin of a Claude Cowork organization to be able to do this in a very centralized way.”

Stock Plugins

The launch includes a set of stock plugins targeting core departments found in most organizations:

DepartmentCore Capabilities
FinanceMarket and competitive research, financial modeling, data‑driven analysis
Legal(Details not enumerated in the release)
HRGenerating job descriptions, onboarding materials, offer letters

Anthropic expects companies to customize each plugin to align with their unique processes and compliance requirements.

Enterprise Connectors

A suite of new enterprise connectors expands the agents’ ability to interact with external systems. Available integrations at launch include:

  • Gmail – pull email context and send messages
  • DocuSign – retrieve and manage signature workflows
  • Clay – access structured data and knowledge bases

These connectors enable agents to fetch real‑time data and context directly from the linked platforms, enhancing their usefulness across workflows.
