Anthropic launches Claude Design, a new product for creating quick visuals
Source: TechCrunch
Overview
Anthropic announced on Friday that it is launching Claude Design, an experimental product that lets users create visuals such as prototypes, slides, one‑pagers, and more using Claude. The tool is aimed at founders, product managers, and anyone without a design background who wants to share ideas quickly.
How Claude Design Works
Users describe what they want, and Claude generates an initial version. From there, users can refine the visuals with direct edits or additional requests.
Example Use Case
“Prototype a serene mobile meditation app. It should have calming typography, subtle nature‑inspired colors, and a clean layout.”
After the initial output, you can tweak colors, adjust typography size, or ask Claude to add a dark‑mode toggle.

Integration with Canva and Export Options
Claude Design can export projects as PDFs, URLs, PPTX files, or send them directly to Canva. Once in Canva, the assets are fully editable and collaborative.
Design System Support
Claude Design can apply a team’s design system to every project, ensuring consistency with the company’s visual style. It does this by reading a company’s codebase and design files, and teams can refine components or maintain multiple design systems.

Availability and Pricing
The product is powered by Claude Opus 4.7 and is available in a research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers.
Anthropic’s Broader AI Push
The launch underscores Anthropic’s push into enterprise and prosumer markets as competition intensifies around AI workplace tools. Earlier in the year, Anthropic introduced Claude Cowork, an agentic assistant for complex tasks, followed by agentic plug‑ins that automate specialized departmental workflows.
Funding Context
The announcement comes shortly after Bloomberg reported that venture capital firms have offered Anthropic a pre‑emptive funding round that could value the company at $800 billion or more, a valuation comparable to or exceeding that of OpenAI. According to the report, Anthropic has not pursued these offers at this time.
