ANBERNIC’s PS Vita-inspired handheld finally gets Play Store support
Source: Android Authority

ANBERNIC has released a new Android update for its dual‑OS PS Vita‑inspired handheld, the RG Vita Pro. The update (version 1.14) adds the Google Play Store and includes various system improvements and bug fixes.
Update Overview
ANBERNIC announced the Android update via a YouTube video (reported by Retro Handhelds). The most notable change is the addition of the Google Play Store, which was missing at launch.
Google Play Store Support
The new Android build now ships with the Play Store pre‑installed, allowing users to download games, apps, and media directly on the device. This resolves the earlier limitation where users had to sideload apps manually.
Vita Emulation Landscape
PS Vita emulation on Android remains limited:
- Vita3K – the most mature Vita emulator for Android, available on GitHub: Vita3K Android releases.
- EmuCoreV – a newer option that may become viable: EmuCoreV on GitHub.
Neither emulator is distributed through the Play Store, so users will still need to install them manually. The update does, however, allow the installation of other apps such as YouTube for non‑gaming use.
System Improvements and Bug Fixes
Version 1.14 brings unspecified system enhancements and bug fixes. ANBERNIC has not detailed the exact changes, but the update is expected to improve overall stability and performance.
