America's Peace Corps Announces 'Tech Corps' Volunteers to Help Bring AI to Foreign Countries

Since its inception over half a century ago, the Peace Corps has engaged more than 240,000 Americans in projects across 142 countries.
New Initiative: Tech Corps
The agency is launching Tech Corps, a program described as “the Peace Corps, but make it AI.”
Tech Corps will recruit STEM graduates and professionals with experience in artificial intelligence and place them in host countries that participate in the American AI Exports Program—an initiative created last year by an executive order to strengthen the United States’ presence in the global AI market.
Mission Areas
Volunteers will apply AI technologies to address challenges in:
- Agriculture
- Education
- Health
- Economic development
Assignment Details
- Duration: 12‑ to 27‑month in‑person assignments or virtual placements
- Benefits: housing, healthcare, a living stipend, and a volunteer service award for overseas placements
Recruitment Message
“Service‑minded technologists to serve in the Peace Corps to help countries around the world harness American AI to enhance opportunity and prosperity for their citizens.”
Experienced technology professionals are also invited to contribute 5–15 hours per week to mentor and support on‑the‑ground projects.
