iPhone 17e
Last year, the iPhone 16e offered great battery life and modern Apple software features for the relatively low price of $599. It didn’t have high‑end camera support, but it let users stay in the Apple ecosystem without breaking the bank. Gurman says the iPhone 17e is “due imminently,” featuring the A19 chip and MagSafe charging as two big new upgrades. It is expected to retain the $599 price point, making it a straightforward upgrade over last year’s model.
New iPads
Gurman reports minor revisions to the iPad lineup:
- Entry‑level iPad – powered by the A18 chip, which will enable Apple Intelligence features on the device for the first time.
- iPad Air – upgraded with the M4 chip.
These updates appear to focus mainly on the new processors, with no major design changes announced.
New MacBooks
The MacBook category may see the most activity in the first half of the year. According to Gurman:
- New 14‑inch and 16‑inch MacBook Pro models.
- A new MacBook Air equipped with an M5 processor.
- A rumored budget MacBook with a 13‑inch display and an iPhone‑class chip, priced well under $1,000.
- Possible launches of a Mac Studio desktop and a Studio Display monitor (timing unclear).
If the budget MacBook materializes, it could be a game‑changer for users seeking an affordable, capable laptop.
