Google announced new features on Friday to increase users’ productivity in its Google Chrome web browser.

Split view

Split view allows users to view two browser tabs side‑by‑side within a single Chrome window. For example, you can watch a YouTube video in one split‑view tab while taking notes in the other. Unlike an operating‑system‑level split view, Chrome’s implementation keeps both sites displayed next to each other simultaneously.

PDF annotations

Chrome’s built‑in PDF viewer now supports annotations. You can markup PDFs with notes, highlights, freehand drawing, shapes, different colors, and digital signatures. Google says this was the most‑requested feature from users.

Save to Google Drive

The new Save to Google Drive option lets you download files directly to your Google Drive instead of your local hard drive. All downloads saved this way appear in a Saved from Chrome folder in Drive, keeping them organized and easy to find.
