2025 Retrospective

2025 has come and gone, and this is the first year I have actually sat down and done a review. The year felt both fast and long, and here are the highlights and my focus for 2026.

Major Highlights

  • Torc Ambassador – Being part of one of the most amazing tech communities was a major highlight. The community’s willingness to share and help each other made a huge difference for me.
  • Community Discord Bot – I built a small Discord bot for the Torc community. It started as a simple summary tool for Discord conversations, then added AI‑powered summarization, weekly roll‑ups (automated via CRON), reminder functionality, and internal commands for the Torc team. The latest feature I’m proud of is a coffee‑chat pairing system that randomly pairs members for informal conversations, encouraging networking without forcing anyone.

ServiceNow Conference – nullEDGE

I co‑organized the virtual ServiceNow conference nullEDGE in October. What began as an idea from Jace grew into a major event within months. I helped design the website, balancing this side project with a full‑time job. The conference attracted over 1,000 registered attendees, and we made valuable connections within the ServiceNow ecosystem. We’re already planning more events for 2026.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Community Focus & Building in Public

I feel I fell short on building in public in 2025. In 2026 I plan to:

  • Produce more community‑focused content.
  • Share my work openly and consistently.
  • Follow a structured plan to stay intentional and avoid distractions.

Work Focus

My team has been strong for roughly four years. This year we’re shifting from heavy customization to setting up a more maintainable future:

  • Migrating to an integrated service portal.
  • Creating extensive documentation and proof‑of‑concepts.
  • Collaborating closely with an amazing lead, Cielo, who supports experimentation and growth.

Closing Thoughts

2026 looks promising as long as I stay focused and present when it counts. Happy New Year—here’s to another year of successes to reflect on!
